Ipeleng Makanete

Ipeleng obtained an LLB degree from the University of Johannesburg and completed Practical Legal Training through the Gawie le Roux Institute of Law. During her studies, she gained practical experience through the university’s law clinic, assisting in the provision of legal services to members of the community with limited access to legal support.

After completing her studies, Ipeleng worked in the financial services sector, gaining experience in financial crime compliance and the non-life insurance industry. This provided her with valuable insight into regulatory compliance, risk assessment, financial crime-related matters and the broader financial services environment.

Ipeleng is passionate about developing her legal career and building on the diverse experience she has gained across the legal and financial services sectors.

Outside of work, she enjoys keeping active at the gym, exploring new restaurants and discovering different food and dining experiences. She values maintaining a healthy balance between professional growth and making time for the things she enjoys.
