Athenkosi Geja

Athenkosi Geja is a Candidate Attorney at Snymans Inc, with a keen interest in property and commercial law. Curious by nature, he is drawn to understanding how the law shapes the lives, businesses and communities it serves.

He obtained his LLB from the University of the Western Cape and completed Practical Legal Training through the Law Society of South Africa’s L.E.A.D Pretoria Law School. He is currently completing an LLM in Mercantile Law, specialising in Tax Law, at UWC.

His journey into law began with an unexpected change of direction. After pursuing aviation at the Johannesburg School of Flying in 2017, Athenkosi enrolled for his LLB in 2018. What began as a leap of faith grew into a lasting professional commitment. His experience at the UWC Law Clinic developed his skills in legal research, drafting and client consultation, while his work in editing, public speaking and sales strengthened his appreciation for clear communication and the human side of professional service.

Outside of work, Athenkosi is a writer and avid reader whose interests range from music, history and philosophy to technology, cinema and football. He also enjoys drawing, photography and working out, bringing the same curiosity to his personal interests that he brings to the law.

His personal philosophy, “a little more heaven and a little less hell,” reflects his belief in leaving people, places and systems better than he found them. At Snymans, he carries this outlook into his commitment to continuous learning, thoughtful service and taking responsibility with purpose.
